Lecture Description
This lecture is the second part of a three-part lecture on the mathematical methods required in theoretical physics, as well as in Physics II. The main emphasis is on methods that arise in classical mechanics, electrodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
The course Mathematical Methods in Physics II (MMPII) covers the following topics: line integrals, surface integrals, volume integrals, divergence, Laplace operator, rotation, gradient fields, scalar potentials, vector potentials, Green’s theorems, Poisson's equation, Fourier series, and Fourier integrals.
Problem sets are distributed weekly and constitute an essential component of the course.
