Lecture Description
This lecture is the second part of a three-part course on the mathematical methods required in theoretical physics, as well as in Physics II. The main emphasis is on methods that arise in classical mechanics, electrodynamics, and quantum mechanics.
The course Mathematical Methods in Physics II (MMPII) covers the following topics: line integrals, surface integrals, volume integrals, divergence, the Laplace operator, curl, gradient fields, scalar potentials, vector potentials, Green’s theorems, the Poisson equation, Fourier series, and Fourier integrals.
Problem sets are distributed weekly and constitute an essential component of the course.
