If you are reading this, you are most likely about to begin your physics studies at the University of Bern. This automatically makes you a member of the FPA (Physics and Astronomy Student Council), and we on the Board would like to warmly welcome you.
We not only represent your interests within the university’s decision-making bodies, but also organise a variety of social and academic events and engage in many other activities aimed at making studying at the ExWi (the Building of the Exact Sciences) more enjoyable. This includes, for example, providing access to past examination papers and other useful resources.
In any case, you will soon get to know us - either on the first day of the semester or during the freshman outing.
You can also contact us by email at fpa@sub.unibe.ch or via our Instagram account @physikunibe. We welcome your questions, ideas, suggestions, and feedback at any time.
To stay informed about the student council’s events and activities, please keep an eye on the various notice boards in the ExWi building, where we post the semester programme and event information. In addition, we regularly share updates via the year group chats.
During the first semester, we also offer a support course accompanying the physics lecture, known as the ZÜP. More detailed information about this course can be found at the University of Bern.

Short addendum: If you are unsure about the legal validity of certificates or examination conditions, these are regulated in Article 6 of the regulations. As long as lecturers communicate the examination conditions clearly and reliably, these conditions are considered binding.
